VICTIM IN SHOOTING REMAINS IN HOSPITAL
A Roanoke man shot Monday at the gym at Eureka Park has been identified as Anthony L. Wade, 21, of Orange Avenue.A spokeswoman at Roanoke Memorial Hospital said Wade was still in the hospital Tuesday afternoon.
She would not comment on his condition, but he was not in an intensive-care unit.
Wade was shot in the side shortly after 4:30 p.m. as he was playing cards in the gym. William Kent Smith, 24, of Fairfax Avenue, has been charged with malicious wounding.
Police were told the shooting resulted from an ongoing dispute.
In other police reports:
Two cigarette-mooching bandits robbed Michael Leon Murray, 25, of Glen Falls, N.Y., of his wallet containing $189 after he got off a bus at the Salem Avenue station. The bandits were last seen running toward the nearby railroad tracks.
Charles C. Dolby, 24, of Falcon Ridge Road Southwest, was charged with indecent exposure at a downtown department store. Employees said a man exposed himself to them after checking merchandise.
