OBIT GILLS, GEORGE W. JR.

GILLS, George W. Jr., 67, of Roanoke County, died Tuesday, February 2, 1993, at his home. He was a retired building contractor and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Nina M. Gills of Roanoke County; son, George W. Gills III of Roanoke, son and daughter-in-law, Daniel C. and Margaret Gills of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Nina G. and Michael T. Fleming of Botetourt County; son, Gary C. Gills, Roanoke; four grandchildren, Kimberly, Daniel, Jamie, and Erin; sister and brother-in-law, Emily G. and Richard Schwarzwalder. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 10:30 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William C. Logan officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
