REPORTED EARNINGS

Hercules

Hercules Inc. - Wilmington, Del., operator of the Army arsenal at Radford and a packaging plant at Covington - on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter net earnings of $41.8 million, or 95 cents per share, up 23 percent from $34.1 million, or 72 cents per share, in the 1991 quarter.

Net income for 1992 was $167.9 million, or $3.69 per share, compared with $94.9 million, or $2.01 per share, in 1991. Both years include previously reported unusual gains and charges.

Sales for the quarter were $697 million, down 2 percent from $710 million in the 1991 period. For the year, sales were $2.865 billion, down 2 percent from $2.929 billion.
