OBIT BAILEY, MARY BOYD, MRS., ("TOOTSIE")
BAILEY, Mary Boyd, Mrs., ("Tootsie"), 85, of Roanoke, died Tuesday,
February 2, 1993 in a local hospital. She was formerly of Bassett and the
widow of John C. Bailey. She was a member of the Bassett Rotary Club and a
Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club. She was a member of Melrose Baptist
Church. Mrs. Bailey enjoyed using her musical abilities for church and
community organizations. Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Rolen
C. and Frances Bailey of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn B. and Rev.
Walter L. Bradley of Manakin-Sabot, Va.; five grandchildren, Patricia L.
Bailey of Richmond; John S. Bailey of Annandale, Mary Kathryn Bradley of
Marina del Rey, Calif., Theresa B. Farmer of Farmville, W. Lee Bradley of
Richmond; one sister, Mildred B. Beene of Richmond; one brother, Fred C. Boyd
of Hickory, N.C. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel 11 a.m.
Friday with the Rev. Larry Sprouse and the Rev. Dale Ashley officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday in Roselawn Cemetery,
Martinsville. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the
Bassett Rotary Club Scholarship Fund or the Melrose Baptist Church Hymnal
Fund. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at
Oakey's South Chapel.
