IN SCHOOL

WILLIAM DIXON of Roanoke has been honored with the Outstanding Young Alumni Achievement Award from Averett College in Danville.

Dixon, a branch manager for Central Fidelity Bank, was recognized for his contributions to the college and the Roanoke community.

He serves on the board of directors of the Williamson Road Area Business Association and the Minority Business Task Force. He also is involved with the Inner City Athletic Association and serves as a tutor at the West End Community Center.

\ NATIONAL BUSINESS COLLEGE recently recognized 13 faculty and staff members for outstanding service and dedication.

They are: R. Stuart Banta, accounting and computer science instructor; Kathy Colgrove, financial assistance; William E. Dietz, assistant director of accounting services; William George, business administration and accounting instructor; Judith Ann Longaker, librarian; Ray Rash, property and facilities manager; Marianne Repko, financial assistance counselor; and Larry W. Steele, vice president for admissions.

Recognized for 10 years of employment were: V. Dianne Vaught, computer science chairperson, and Shirlene A. Wilson, secretarial science instructor.

Honored for five years of service were: Anna M. Counts, campus director; Earl M. Crouch, travel and tourism chairman; and Dorothy W. Herndon, fashion merchandising chairwoman.
