WITH HIS SIZE 23S, TEEN WALTZES INTO RECORD BOOK

Dipping into the Guinness Book of Records, Matthew McGrory spotted the entry for world's biggest feet and knew he could walk all over that one.

The West Chester University student now owns a Guinness certificate declaring him the living person with the biggest feet.

The book's 1994 edition will recognize his feet, he said.

At shoe size 23 American, or 22 1/2 under the British system, McGrory out-stepped the record of Haji Mohammad Alam Chamma of Pakistan, who wears size 22, British.

At 7-foot-4-inches and 280 pounds, McGrory towers over his 5-foot-11 father, William. His 5-foot-6 mother, Maureen, keeps her son's toes warm by stitching together two standard-size socks to make one.

McGrory's custom-made shoes cost $800. Since a British TV program borrowed them, he's padded around in size 16 sneakers with the toes cut off.

According to Guinness, the world's height record still belongs to Chamma, who is 7 feet 7 1/4 inches tall. But McGrory, 19, has ambitions: "I think I'm still growing," he said.
