WOODARD RECEIVES FLO HYMAN AWARD
Lynette Woodard, the all-time leading scorer in the history of women's
college basketball, received the Flo Hyman award, presented annually to the
woman who "exemplifies the dignity, spirit and commitment to excellence"
demonstrated by Hyman, captain of the 1984 U.S. Olympic women's volleyball
team. Two years after leading that team to a gold medal, Hyman died of
Marfan's Syndrome.
