GROUND WATER FORUM THURSDAY IN BLACKSBURG

A public forum, "Ground Water Quality and Protection in Montgomery County," will be held Feb. 11 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Virginia Museum of Natural History at Virginia Tech, 428 N. Main St.

Agricultural extension agent Joe Hunnings will report results of the 1991 countywide well- and spring-water testing program.

Following Hunnings' report, there will be a panel on groundwater protection strategies, including: Jason Gray, Virginia Water Project; Duane Hyde, Montgomery County Planning Department; John Marling, Virginia Council on the Environment; Joe Gorman, Montgomery County Board of Supervisors; and Waldon Kerns, Virginia Tech agricultural economist.

Carol Stone, an environmental engineer, will be moderator.

The forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County and the Virginia Museum of Natural History at Virginia Tech.

Parking is available in the university lot across Main Street from the museum.
