LIFE IN ROANOKE IS . . . INSTRUCTIONAL

I HAVE LEARNED a lot of new things since I moved to Roanoke from Massachusetts:

There is a beautiful view of the city from the Mill Mountain Star.

People here are much friendlier than up north.

There is a big difference in food here.

And God's name is the Rev. Jerry Falwell.

I am not involved with religion or politics, nor am I against these. But I was always taught there is a difference between the two.

I think for Rev. Falwell to announce to the world that he has put the new president, Bill Clinton, on trial, even before the election, and to threaten the political world with the reactivation of "his" Moral Majority is a total insult to the political and religious worlds, as well as to the rest of us who are just plain folks.
