Cathy Shuler and John D. Fulton, Jr. were married January 2, 1993 in Green Pastures Country Club, Austin, Texas. The officiating clergyman was Steve Spencer. The reception was held at Green Pastures Country Club. The matron of honor was Lori LePori, sister of the bride. The flowergirls were Lauren and Cathren LePori. The best man was John Shuler, Jr., father of the bride. The ushers were Chris Shuler, brother of the bride, and David LePori, brother-in-law of the bride. The candlelighter was Sam Shuler. The guestbook was attended by Kay Lyle Bierscheid.The bride's gown was a sheath design of chantilly lace encrusted with seed pearls and iridescent sequins with a V-back and fitted-point sleeves outlined in heavy jeweled lace scooped to the waist with a cascade peau de soie of puffs falling from the waist to form a bustle. The cathedral length train of silk peau de soie fell from the waist overlaid with heavy chantilly lace and jeweling of seed pearls and iridescent sequins. The hemline was formed by the chantilly lace outlined in the jeweling. The fingertip vail fell from the headpiece adorned with pearls and iridescent sequins falling onto the vail.
She carried an arm bouquet consisting of rubruium lilies, orchids, roses, tulips, Casa Blanca lilies and lilacs.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Shuler, Jr. of Gonzales, Tx. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University and is employed by Burroughs Wellcome Pharmaceutical Co. The bridegroom, son of Mrs. John D. Fulton of Rocky Hill, Ct. and the late John D. Fulton, is a graduate of Virginia Tech. He is employed by Balzer and Associates. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Paris and London.
