1ST CASH 5 WINNER SOLD IN ROANOKE
Two tickets with five correct numbers won $100,000 in the Virginia Lottery's first Cash 5 drawing, a lottery spokeswoman said. The tickets were sold in Roanoke and Stafford, spokeswoman Paula Otto said Saturday.
The Roanoke ticket was sold at the Sav-A-Lot Supermarket on Patterson Avenue on Thursday at 1:35 p.m., said co-owner Claude Ferguson. The ticket holder has not yet come forward.
The 9-year-old store has been selling lottery tickets since the games began in Virginia. He said having a winner is a good way to get the new game under way and will probably increase the store's sales.
This is the first time a big-money winner has bought a ticket at the store, Ferguson said.
The numbers drawn Friday were: 15, 18, 27, 31 and 32.
Four correct numbers were worth $100 for 304 ticket holders and 10,120 tickets with three correct numbers won $5.
