CHATHAM MAN KILLED IN TRACTOR ACCIDENT

A Chatham man was killed Saturday afternoon when the tractor he was driving turned over on him, according to the Virginia State Police.

James Kenneth West, 58, was traveling up a hill off Virginia 831 in Pittsylvania County when the tractor lost power and began to roll backwards. The tractor went over an embankment, trapping West, and then caught fire.

Police said West died at the scene.
