OBIT COVINGTON, ELMER L. SR.

COVINGTON, Elmer L. Sr., of Roanoke, died Thursday, February 4, 1993. He was retired from Clover Creamery and Beatrice Foods. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eleanor Bowling Covington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer L. Covington, Jr. and Rita Covington of Salem, Larry E. Covington and Julie D. Covington of Roanoke; a twin sister, Annie Crist of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11 a.m. Monday, February 8 with the Rev. John E. Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Belmont Christian Church, 1101 Jamison Ave., Roanoke, Va. 24013 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 4235 Colonial Ave., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24018. The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 Saturday and Sunday evening at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
