MAIL SHOPPERS AREN'T TAX DODGERS

RECENTLY your paper published some articles about the state sales tax not being paid on merchandise ordered from mail-order companies.

It stated that it was being done to avoid paying the sales tax. I don't believe this would be the case, when the shipping charges usually amount to more than the tax would, depending on the dollar value ordered.

I believe the big reason for ordering would be for things that you cannot buy locally or close by. WILLIAM D. PAXTON NEW CASTLE
