STOP MEDDLING IN NEIGHBORS' BUSINESS

IN RESPONSE to the letter to the editor in the Roanoke Times & World-News by Sherry Davidson (Jan. 27, "Holiday debate wasting time, energy") concerning the meeting at Christiansburg High School about changing Easter to spring break and Christmas to winter break:

There is a conspiracy going on in Blacksburg to remove our Jesus Christ from everything. I was in attendance at that meeting and I do not believe Ms. Davidson should express her opinion about Montgomery County. Roanoke has its problems and she could be of help there, if her time were not spent criticizing her neighbors.

We can take care of our county, and I ask that she help clean up hers - stop drunk drivers, ask for prayer in schools, and pledge allegiance to our flag. These are rights we fought for in World War II and were prepared to die for, if it became necessary. I fought in three major engagements - has she?

Yes, I am a Christian. There is only one God and everyone, including Ms. Davidson, will stand before him on Judgment Day. ELMER E. PHILLIPS CHRISTIANSBURG
