MAN CLAIMS TO BE NEXT MORMON PROPHET
A man who threatened a Mormon Church leader at Brigham Young University told police he had a vision he was to become the faith's next prophet, a school spokesman said Monday.Cody Robert Judy, 27, of Bakersfield, Calif., held what he claimed was a briefcase bomb near Elder Howard W. Hunter during a Sunday night fireside address at the church-owned university.
Judy produced a three-page statement and demanded that Hunter read it, but Hunter refused, said BYU spokesman Brent Harker. A small group of students and Hunter's security guards overpowered Judy.
