Not so fast, Los Angeles. David Letterman is leaning toward keeping his late-night television show in Manhattan if a few problems can be resolved, a CBS spokeswoman said Tuesday.Letterman's eastward tilt was made public following a meeting between senior staffers at "Late Night" and network executives.
"If some facilities concerns can be worked out, the show would like to remain in New York," said Ann Morfogen, CBS vice president of communications.
Actress Nastassja Kinski gave birth to a 7-pound, 14-ounce girl early Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The infant, named Kenya Julia Miambi Sarah Jones, was born at 5:21 a.m. at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said publicist Eliot Sekular. The baby's father, music composer and producer Quincy Jones, was present during delivery. It was the couple's first child.
Singer Michael Bolton, whose remakes of classic rhythm and blues standards have earned him triple platinum sales, has given $50,000 to the Harlem School of the Arts.
"This is just one of the appropriate ways that I can think of to show the obvious and tremendous contribution that African-Americans have made to our culture and my career," said the lean, blond singer, addressing a Monday afternoon gathering at the school.
