OBIT BEHELER, ROY LEE

BEHELER, Roy Lee, 36, of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 1993 after a lengthy illness in a Roanoke hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, James Elwood Beheler. Surviving are his mother, June D. Beheler, Rocky Mount; two brothers, Donald N. Beheler, Hamilton, Ohio, and James E. Beheler Jr., Rocky Mount; three uncles, Carey N. Beheler, Rocky Mount, Jack LaHote, Toledo, Ohio, and Marion Davis, Lorrdine, Ohio; two aunts, Joyce LaHote, and Louise Yockey, both of Toledo, Ohio; his grandmother, Mrs. Ewell P. Davis, Beckley, W.Va.; one loving nephew, James Q. Beheler, Rocky Mount; two loving and adoring nieces, Miss Tiffany M. Beheler, and Miss Alicen L. Beheler, both of Easton, Md.; a special and dear friend, Ms. Karen Q. Beheler, Rocky Mount. Roy was a graduate of Franklin County High School where he received the Virgil H. Goode award for scholastic achievement. He was the only Franklin County High School student to ever receive the DuPont Scholarship Award. Roy graduated from the University of Virginia where he was a honor student and received numerous scholarship awards. He was employed for several years as a Certified Public Accountant with the Accounting firm of Ernst and Young in Roanoke and Washington, D.C. In 1989 he entered Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. where he received his doctorate. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, February 11, at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Glenn E. Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Honor Society in memory of Roy Lee Beheler or to the Developmental Center of Franklin County. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
