FREDERICKSBURG BANS CAR USE AS RESIDENCE
Living in a vehicle in Fredericksburg could mean a $25 fine under a new city ordinance.City Council approved the ordinance Tuesday night, after more than two months of tinkering.
Though no city official has said there's a widespread problem with people living in cars, the council has debated the proposal three times since it was introduced in November. Council members have changed the wording to exclude campers and lowered the fine from $250.
Councilwoman Mary Frances George proposed the law in response to requests from residents who had complained about a man living in a van for several months. - Associated Press
