LEMOND DROPS OUT OF FRENCH RACE

Greg LeMond, the three-time Tour de France winner, dropped out of his first cycling race of the season Wednesday, giving up in the third stage of the Tour of the Mediterranean.

LeMond was far out of contention after the two stages of Tuesday, falling behind in the team time trial and ending up 150th out of 158 finishers in the overall standings. - Associated Press
