OBIT DICKERSON, CLARENCE EDWARD JR.

DICKERSON, Clarence Edward Jr., 71, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, February 10, 1993 at the VA Medical Center, Salem. He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Dickerson; mother, Maude Carey Dickerson; and a son, Johnnie E. Dickerson Sr. He was a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He served as a Cpl.in the U.S. Army duing World War II and received the World War II Victory Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from Singer Furniture Co. Survivors include his wife, Virginia G. Dickerson; seven sons, Jimmie (Teresa), Robert (Betty), Clarence III, Bobby, Ralph, Leroy, and Jeffery Dickerson; three daughters, Teresa D. Brown, Jeanette and Delores Dickerson, all of Roanoke; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 12, 1993, 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Marvin Fields, pastor of Maple Street Baptist Church will officiate. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
