OBIT COLLINS, MARY ALICE DOSS

COLLINS, Mary Alice Doss, 83, of Max Meadows, died Tuesday night, February 9, 1993, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nina C. Rogers, and a son, Billy Eugene Doss. She is survived by her husband, Alec R. Collins Sr., Mr. Airy, N.C.; one daughter, Wanda C. Gravley, Mt. Airy, N.C.; four sons, Bruce Collins of Mt. Airy, N.C., Alexander R. (Joe) Collins, Jr., of New Port, Va., Damon E. (Butch) Collins of Wytheville, Douglas C. Collins of Dublin; five brothers, Maynard Doss of Christiansburg, Hershel Doss of Pulaski, Fred Doss of Max Meadows, Willard Doss of Roanoke, Paul Doss of Richmond; and one half brother, Herbert Coffey, Columbus, Ohio. Twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday in the Grubb Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in the West End Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 until 9 or any time at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Buth and Mary Lee Collins, 1445 Peppers Ferry Road. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
