CHEATING RICHLANDS OF CLEAR-CUT VICTORY
IN REGARDS to the play-off football game between Salem and Richlands, the Virginia High School League executive committee didn't seem to understand the law of traction.Put two pickup trucks that are alike on a muddy field, both having regular tires. Put chains on one, and then let them compete in speed and moving weight. Which would win?
I have a grandson who plays on the Salem team, and I'm proud of the season they had. If the traction thing had been equal, I feel Salem would have made a better showing.
I know Richlands is the AA division champion. I feel sorry for the players, fans and all concerned. I don't think they can ever be sure who had the best team that day. DINKSEY CROUCH SALEM
