TAX ENTERTAINMENT TO REDUCE DEFICIT
WITH ALL the uproar lately about reducing the deficit and raising taxes, I am surprised that someone else hasn't thought of the obvious solution. The government should put a tax on the one thing most Americans can't do without - entertainment. Why not add a 5-to-10 percent tax to the tickets to events such as football, basketball, baseball, car races, rock and country music concerts? These are the things most Americans seem to be concerned about anyway. After all, anyone who is stupid enough to pay the outrageous prices that are being charged to attend these events shouldn't mind forking over a few more dollars to help out the government.
