\ EDWARD BARNES, a personal financial planner with IDS Financial Services Inc. of Roanoke, was recognized for having completed 25 years with the company.

Barnes, a 1960 graduate of Virginia Military Institute, recently completed study and testing requirements to become a certified financial planner.

\ PRUDENTIAL'S ROANOKE DISTRICT AGENCY has donated $1,000 to the Salvation Army's Turning Point shelter for abused women as a result of having won the Prudential Heritage Award.

The award of a donation to the winning office's charity of choice was earned through the agency's client service effort.
