Salem parents invited to meet with teachersSalem public schools will hold parent-teacher conferences at the end of the school day Monday.
Parents who have not been contacted by the schools may make appointments according to the following schedule:
G.W. Carver Elementary School, 3:20-6:20 p.m., 387-2492; East Salem Elementary School, 3-6 p.m., 375-7001; South Salem Elementary School, 3-6 p.m., 387-2478; West Salem Elementary School, 3-6 p.m., 387-2503; Andrew Lewis Middle School, 3:40-6:40 p.m., 387-2513; and Salem High School, 2:50-5:50 p.m., 387-2437.
Veterans Council elects 1993 officers, board
The Roanoke Valley Veterans Council recently elected officers for 1993.
They are: Dan Karnes, president; Corky B. Coughlin, vice president; Harold Worrell, treasurer; Dallas W. Proax Jr., secretary; Waynard Caldwell, sergeant-at-arms; and Thomas Berger, chaplain.
The following members will serve on the board of directors: Sloan H. Hoopes, Thomas R. Plymale, Steve Goodwin, Andy W. Bryson, Milton Aliff and Harvey M. Barker.
