FOR THE RECORD
ClarificationA story in Wednesday's paper about gun-control measures identified the Tec-9 pistol and the "streetsweeper" shotgun as automatic weapons - capable of firing multiple rounds with one squeeze of the trigger. Actually, both are manufactured to be semi-automatic weapons - meaning the trigger must be squeezed once for each round fired. However, on the street, the guns are commonly and easily converted to automatic firing.
