Northside and Franklin County are favored to win high school wrestling championships this weekend.

The Vikings head the field at the Region III meet today and Saturday at Bassett. Franklin County is out to defend its Roanoke Valley District title in Rocky Mount on Saturday. William Fleming figures to be the Eagles' main competition.

Other wrestling tournaments include the Region C at James River on Saturday and the Region IV today and Saturday at Graham.

\ District volleyball tournaments will be held in all Timesland Group AA leagues on Saturday. Playing host to the tournaments will be Jefferson Forest (Seminole District), Rockbridge County (Blue Ridge District), Blacksburg (New River District) and Tunstall (Piedmont District).

The Group A Hogoheegee District tournament was won Thursday by defending Group A state champion George Wythe. Glenvar (Pioneer) and Floyd County (Mountain Empire) are the sites for other Group A district tournaments Saturday.
