CHARLES TOWN CANCELS ITS THURSDAY SCHEDULE

The Charles Town (W.Va.) Races has canceled live racing on Thursdays for the remainder of the winter because of an industry-wide shortage of thoroughbred horses, track manager Don Hudson said.

Charles Town will continue showing simulcasts from Gulfstream (Fla.) and Santa Anita (Calif.) on Thursdays.

The revised live racing schedule at Charles Town has cards Wednesdays and Sundays at 1 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. A special Presidents' Day holiday card will be run Monday starting at 1 p.m.
