TEXACO DOESN'T ADMIT WRONGDOING IN SPILL

A Texaco affiliate did not admit wrongdoing when it agreed Wednesday to pay Virginia $2.75 million in fines to settle charges related to an underground oil spill.

State authorities had charged that tens of thousands of gallons of oil leaked from Star Enterprise's storage facility, polluting a Fairfax County neighborhood.
