OBIT-THOMAS, ALVIS HASSELL

THOMAS, Alvis Hassell, 83, of Roanoke, formerly of Botetourt Co., died Thursday, February 11, 1993. He was a member of the VFW Post #1481 and a veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Louise H. Thomas; one son, Michael Thomas, three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Albert Clemons, Ann and David Roberson, all of Roanoke, Mary Lynne and Jack Leffel, Eagle Rock; one brother, Maxey Thomas, Roanoke; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 13, 11 a.m. at the Rader Troutville Chapel with the Rev. Stephen R. Creech officiating. Interment will follow in the Andrew Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
