YARD SALE ITEMS ARE BEING ACCEPTED

Items being donated for an annual community yard sale benefiting area service agencies are being taken at the former Advance Auto Store site across from Jackson Park.

The Community Yard and Bake Sale for this year is scheduled for April 29 and 30 and May 1, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Proceeds will go to Habitat for Humanity and the Emergency Needs Task Force, and for food baskets for people in need at Christmas. Baked items should be brought on the actual sale days.

Books, jewelry, ceramics, crafts, furniture and other household items as well as clean clothing in good condition will be accepted at the site on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Other times can be arranged by calling Anna Powers at 980-2418. Powers was instrumental in starting the annual fund-raiser several years ago.

Powers also is looking for volunteers to help with the sale. The storage space for donated items is being donated by Advance Stores.
