ROANOKE DELEGATE TO SEEK RE-ELECTION
Del. Victor Thomas, D-Roanoke, said Friday he'll run again for the House of Delegates this fall.
His announcement was no surprise. He's held his seat, which covers parts of the city and Roanoke County, since 1973 and has no opposition in sight.
He chairs the House Committee on Conservation and Natural Resources and sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee.
"Experience and seniority, coupled with my continuing commitment to stay close to the people, provide me with the tools I need to do the people's work," Thomas said in a written statement.
