EARNINGS
Adolph Coors Co.Adolph Coors Co., Golden, Colo. brewer operating a bottling and distribution plant in Rockingham County, on Friday reported that net sales for its fiscal year ended Dec. 27 were $1.55 billion, up 1.3 percent from $1.53 billion for fiscal 1991.
Net income was $35.7 million, or 95 cents per share, for 1992, up 131 percent from $15.5 million, or 42 cents per share, the year before.
For its fourth quarter, Coors posted sales of $339.2 million, up 2.8 percent from $329.9 million a year earlier. The fourth-quarter operating loss from continuing operations was $2 million, compared with a loss of $13.1 million a year earlier.
Intermet Corp.
Intermet Corp., Atlanta-based owner of Lynchburg Foundry Co. in Lynchburg and Radford, on Friday reported a fourth quarter net loss of $3 million, or 12 cents per share. For the full year Intermet had a net loss of $29.9 million, equal to $1.31 per share.
In 1991 Intermet reported net income of $2.5 million, or 12 cents per share in the fourth quarter and $8.8 million, or 42 cents per share, for the full year.
Sales for the fourth quarter rose 32 percent to $104.5 million from $79.2 million in 1991, while sales for the full year were $402.0 million in 1992 compared to $319.8 million in 1991.
Georgia Bonded Fibers
Georgia Bonded Fibers Inc., Newark, N.J. operator of a fiberboard and foam products plant in Buena Vista, reported a net loss of $663,000, or 42 cents per share, for the first half of its fiscal year, ended Dec. 31. That compares with net income of $393,000, or 25 cents per share, a year earlier. Net sales for the first half were $21.4 million, down 3.1 percent from $22.1 million, a year earlier.
For its second quarter, the company reported a loss of $202,000, or 13 cents per share, compared with earnings of $223,000, or 14 cents per share, a year earlier. Sales fell 7.5 percent to $11.1 million compared with year-earlier $12 million.
