WHAT BETTER TIME TO GET DAY OF PAMPERING?

On no other day in her life will a woman feel more like a queen than on her wedding day. Why then, shouldn't she get the full royal treatment?

Family and friends wanting to pamper the bride should plan to wait on her hand and foot. Bring her breakfast in bed: something light, but nutritious to get her through the day's activities.

Then, whisk her - and her attendants - away in a limousine to get their hair and nails done. Or make an appointment for a "day of beauty." Donna Woodson of Good Looks said such treatment might include a manicure and pedicure, a relaxation massage, a facial and paraffin body waxing.

Body waxing removes dead skin, renews the cells and makes the skin soft. Woodson said it's especially popular for the hands and feet. Waxing also removes unwanted hair.

Arrangements can be made to do the whole bridal party together. Woodson, for instance, can do up to eight women at the same time. But, she said it's important to book ahead of time. Arrangements also can be made to have a makeup artist go to the bride's home, or to the church, to do her makeup - if reservations, again, are made well in advance.

Hiring a limousine for the day is not only an elegant and luxurious idea, it's a practical one, said Kimberly Pendleton of Prestige Limousine. (And "it's not as expensive as you think.") When the bride and her attendants travel together to a beauty appointment, or to the church, they have an opportunity to celebrate together.

They can drink champagne and reminisce, without worrying about traffic, weather, or missing any of the fun with each other. A limousine is safer in bad weather because it is a bigger, heavier car, and the driver is a professional. The bride and groom, and their families, also are spared the worry of who will drive, and who will protect the car from pranksters, said Pendleton.

The bride might choose to dress at home, so a limousine allows her more room to spread out her gown as she rides to the church. And she can share the ride with her attendants or her parents.

When the couple leaves the church for the reception, a limousine gives them the few precious moments of private time they may have all day. Pendleton said they can drink champagne together, listen to their special songs or watch a video of the ceremony on the limousine's VCR. "It makes the wedding that much more formal."

As a final touch, she said, some couples may chose to pamper their out-of-town guests by offering limousine tours of the city, or by giving gift certificates to their parents as a thank you. And for the bride and her new husband, it offers the opportunity to be "whisked away in your own private chariot."

As a word of advice, Pendleton recommended reserving a limousine early and making sure the company is properly licensed and insured.
