UT-CHATTANOOGA GUNS DOWN KEYDETS

TeeJay Jackson scored 18 points Saturday in leading Tennessee-Chattanooga to a 93-70 basketball victory over Southern Conference rival VMI.

The 6-foot-1 senior guard also grabbed a career-high 18 rebounds.

The Moccasins (18-6 overall, 11-2 conference) took command in the first half, riding a 13-0 run to a 40-16 lead with 6:23 left. Chad Copeland connected for back-to-back 3-pointers during the run.

"They made too many three-pointers, and they weren't even on transition," said VMI head coach Joe Cantafio. "They had four 3-point shooters out there, and they were just gunning."

The Keydets (5-16, 3-9) were outrebounded 50-29. The closest they got was 16 points behind in the second half.

VMI's Lawrence Gullette led all scorers with 19 points. Jonathan Penn scored 17 and Lewis Preston added 16. \
