BLACK HISTORY MONTH TALK PLANNED AT CVC

Historian and educator Edgar Toppin will speak at Clinch Valley College's chapel at 1 p.m. Monday in connection with Black History Month.

Toppin has been professor of history at Virginia State University since 1964 and dean of its graduate school since 1979. He has written 10 books, was the first black to serve on the National Parks and National Historical Publications Commissions, and was the first black member of the Virginia Writers Club, of which he has been president.
