OLLENDICK STARS IN AA TRACK MEET
Katie Ollendick of Blacksburg won three individual events and participated in a team relay victory to emerge as the standout performer in the Group AA state invitational track and field meet Saturday at VMI.Ollendick helped Blacksburg to a second-place finish in the girls' meet with 48 points, six behind Charlottesville, which also won the boys' meet. Ollendick won the 500- and 1,000-meter runs, and the high jump. She also anchored Blacksburg's winning 1,600 relay team.
Christiansburg's girls were fourth, Rockbridge County fifth and Laurel Park sixth among the top 10 team finishers.
In the boys' meet, Keith Moyer of Salem, Jonathon Stewart of Northside and Philip Clements of Staunton River each won a pair of events.
Moyer won the 55-meter dash and the long jump, Stewart won the 1,000 meters and was on the Vikings' winning 3,200 relay team, and Clements took the 1,600- and 3,200-meter distance events.
Charlottesville's 81 points were 31 more than Christiansburg in the boys' team standings. Northside finished third, Blacksburg fourth, Staunton River fifth, and Salem and Jefferson Forest tied for sixth.

***CORRECTION***
Published correction ran on Feb. 15, 1993. An article in some of Sunday's edlitions incorrectly listed the placings for the state Group AA girls' indoor track meet at VMI. Charlottesville was first with 54 points. Brookville was second with 53 and Blacksburg was third with 48.
