OBIT CHANDLER, REGINALD F.
CHANDLER, Reginald F., 84, of 2396 Childress Road, Christiansburg, died
Thursday, February 11, 1993 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. Born January 10,
1909, he was the son of the late William H. and Callie Martin Chandler. He was
also preceded in death by three brothers. Mr. Chandler was an active, faithful
member of the First Church of the Brethren, Pulaski, Va., V.F.W. Post 5311,
Christiansburg, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, with 51 years of
service as a railroad brakeman. A veteran of World War II, he served two and
one half years with Company B, 725th Railroad Operation Battalion in India.
Survivors include his wife, Vashti Reed Chandler; a foster son, Freddie
Bannick of Homer, Alaska and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will
be 11 a.m. Monday, from the First Church of the Brethren, Pulaski, conducted
by Rev. David Shumate, Rev. Lee Naff and Angelia Areheart. Interment will
follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family sincerely request that
in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the First Church of the Brethren
Parking Lot Pavement Fund, Pulaski, Va. The family will receive friends from 1
to 4 p.m. Sunday only at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.
