GOT ANY STRANGE WD-40 STORIES?

WD-40 saved your life? They want to know

Forty years ago, engineers came up with WD-40 to prevent corrosion on the Atlas missile.

But in the past 40 years, this lubricant has achieved cult status as a consumer product.

Fishing enthusiasts claim that WD-40, sprayed on bait, attracts fish. Pet owners say it cures mange. Homeowners spray WD-40 on their garbage cans to keep bugs and animals out.

And now some people think it can cure arthritis.

In honor of its 40th anniversary, company officials are looking for unusual stories and uses involving WD-40.

Maybe you are like the Florida man who saved his boat from hijackers by hitting them over the head with a can of WD-40. Or the California woman whose parakeet accidentally had gotten stuck on sticky mousetrap paper. In trying to free the animal, she too got stuck on the paper. The vet used WD-40 to free both of them.
