OBIT SHORT, EFFIE BISHOP

SHORT, Effie Bishop, 75, of Roanoke, died February 14, 1993. She was retired from the Roanoke City Public Schools Cafeteria. She is survived by her husband, W. P. (Bill) Short Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Larry P. and Thuy Short, Roanoke; daughter, Patricia A. Short, Roanoke; grandchildren, Brian P. Short, Oanh T. Huynh, Mika L. Short, all of Roanoke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emory B. and Virginia Bishop, Vinton, Lewis W. and Ruth Bishop, Roanoke; sister, Bessie B. Kessler, Vinton; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be from Oakey's Vinton Chapel 11:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John P. Dunstan officiating with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
