Because of a reporter's error, a teacher at William Byrd Middle School was incorrectly depicted in an Extra section story Sunday as saying she would require each of her students to turn in three or four pages of writing for the Literacy Passport test.

She actually said she would require them to turn in three or four paragraphs.

A syndicated story in Sunday's Extra section listed an out-of-service phone number for the National AIDS Information Clearinghouse. The working number is (800) 458-5231.

Because incorrect information was supplied to the newspaper, a photograph in Monday's sports section incorrectly identified University of North Carolina basketball player Brian Reese.

Because of a reporter's error, Wingate Appraisal and Mapping Service was incorrectly identified in a Sunday business story.
