GIVE MAYOR BOWERS A BREAK

METHINKS some of the Roanoke City Council members protest too much.

Of course, Mayor Bowers should be on the committee concerning construction, completion, etc. of Hotel Roanoke. He helped to get the money raised.

Give him a break! He's our mayor, whether or not you voted for him.

When City Council should have said no was before that ridiculous Dominion Tower was on the drawing board.

Also, in response to Carole Breedlove's letter to the editor, "Use hotel for the homeless" (Feb. 3):

She's lost her marbles. Hotel Roanoke would be raped and mutilated by those who won't accept residences in shelters, etc. Some of the so-called homeless don't want a home. They want their way and no troublesome rules. MARY E. WOOD ROANOKE
