Centel shareholders' lawsuit dismissed
Centel Corp., Chicago-based operator of telephone and cellular telephone service with customers in Western Virginia, said Monday the Circuit Court of Cook County, Ill., has dismissed without prejudice a lawsuit brought on behalf of Centel's shareowners challenging the fairness of the corporation's merger with Kansas City-based Sprint Corp.
Still pending in federal court is a class action suit on behalf of Centel shareowners opposed to the merger.
Chicago-based Centel and Sprint have said they expect the merger of the two companies to be completed in March, pending regulatory approvals.
