OBIT BAILEY, GILBERT L.

BAILEY, Gilbert L., 86, of Abingdon, died Monday night at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was a former resident of Coeburn where he owned and operated the Bailey Coal Co. He was a member of the Abingdon United Methodist Church and the Abingdon Civitan Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Johnson Bailey; two sons, Kenneth W. Bailey, Abingdon, and Jack K. Bailey, Richlands, Va.; one stepdaughter, Kylene Hilton, Radford, Va.; one half sister, Blanche Tickle, Unicoi, Tenn.; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Abingdon United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Farris Funeral Service in Abingdon.
