OBIT SHELTON, LEONA EDMONDS
SHELTON, Leona Edmonds, of Indianapolis, Ind., formerly of Roanoke, passed
away February 12, 1993, in a local hospital. She was a native of Roanoke and
the widow of Ray Shelton Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Letiate
Tate; one son, Ray Shelton, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, Roy
and Doris Edmonds of Richmond, George Edmonds, Roanoke, Cornell Edmonds,
Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Mrs. Marie (Elijah) Williams, Mrs. Dorothy
Garrett and Mrs. Shirley (Howard) Barnes, all of Roanoke; Mrs. Barbara Penn of
Norwalk, Conn.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a devoted
friend, Mrs. Alberta Randall, Roanoke; numerous nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends. Services and burial will be Saturday, February 20,
1993, 2 p.m. at the New Life Baptist Church, Indianapolis, Ind. A memorial
service will be held in Roanoke at a later date.
