THE NAVY IS WATCHING OVER US
WHY HAVE few voices been raised in defense of the fine, dedicated men of our Navy who, as protectors of our families' safety and security, presently face a significant obstacle to their job-performance ability as well as a threat, novel as it may be, to their personal well-being and comfort? As was pointed out by Navy personnel - interviewed front-center-stage at RC's Go-Go II Lounge (Landmark News Service story, Jan. 28) while sharing photos of wives and children, discussing important social issues and taking turns reading aloud Biblical passages (with feeling) while striving to ignore the bikini-clad dancers - they "wouldn't want anyone looking at them with lust."
I fail to recall enactment of the Single Digit IQ Military Recruit Standard. No matter. We can bask in a warm sense of security just from the knowledge that we are protected by men of such astute awareness, cognition and keen discerning abilities. KATHY DAVIEDS FLOYD
