BYRD'S ROBERTSON GETS 1,000TH POINT IN VICTORY
Senior David Robertson got his 1,000th career point on his first basket as William Byrd romped past Rockbridge County 88-47 in Blue Ridge District boys' basketball Wednesday night.
Robertson finished with 22 and has 1,020 in his career. Reserves helped spark Byrd (14-5, 6-3), with sophomore Kevin Tuck coming off the bench for 15. Kenny Lewis led Rockbridge with 13. \
Craig County 77, Highland 65: At New Castle, junior guard Kris Peters scored 20 points, including eight in the fourth quarter, as the Rockets (9-11 overall, 3-8 district) held off the Rams (2-16, 0-10) for a Pioneer District victory. \
