FORMER ARSENAL CHIEF JACKSON JONES DIES

Retired Col. Jackson S. Jones, who commanded the Radford Army Ammunition Plant from 1961-1964 and later was manager of the Virginia Employment Commission in Radford, died Monday. He was 77.

Jones, who died in Florida where he moved in 1982, was also involved with New River Community Action Inc.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Presbyterian Church of Radford, where Jones had been a member. Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford is handling the arrangements.
