OBIT JEFFERSON, ELMER K.
JEFFERSON, Elmer K. 82, of Roanoke, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 1993
in a local hospital. He was born September 3, 1910 in Franklin County, a son
of the late George W. Jefferson and Lula Morgan Jefferson. Mr. Jefferson
retired from W. W. Boxley after 42 years of service, was a member of Colonial
Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife,
Claudine Harris Jefferson; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas E. and Billie D.
Jefferson, Newport News; a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce J. and Lewis M.
Coffey, Madison Heights; a granddaughter, Debra L. Jefferson; a grandson,
Douglas M. Jefferson, Newport News; several nieces and nephews. Funeral
services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel
with Rev. Donald W. Eade officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Burial
Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will be from
7 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
